Born in Florence in 1881, Guccio Gucci moved to London where he was inspired by the refined sensibilities of the British aristocracy. An Italian fashion brand founded in 1921 after World War I, after returning to Florence in 1901. Over the next few years, the company achieved success, and leather products with horseback riding motifs became popular.
When World War II began, leather became a controlled item even in Italy, and leather became unusable. Around the same time, bamboo material was also used as a substitute, and it is also recognized as an icon under the name of bamboo.
Gucci is called the originator of the brand and is also known for being the first in the world to put the designer's name on the product for quality assurance.
Today, the company handles a wide range of fashion items, including leather goods such as bags, shoes, and wallets, as well as clothes, jewelry, accessories, watches, and perfumes.
